I focus on building a solid relationship, through open acceptance, a warm, human connection and a genuine, authentic approach.
My approach to counselling and therapy creates a place where you can feel secure, knowing you won't be judged or criticised. Together, we will work on examining different facets of yourself, considering how your past may have shaped you, and gradually delving into unexplored aspects of your life. Better mental health through therapy can be achieved when we work together.
I specialise in working with clients struggling with feelings of anxiety, anger and depression who have found it difficult to talk about their feelings in the past. The end of a relationship, the loss of a loved one, or issues at work can all give rise to difficult feelings. I have worked extensively with issues of gender, sexuality and identity.
My approach to counselling and therapy is rooted in empathy, compassion, and non-judgement. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where my clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and feelings, and where we can work together to develop the skills and tools needed to thrive.
My approach to individual therapy is rooted in the belief that every person possesses the innate capacity for personal growth . I hope to facilitate a journey of self-discovery and healing, empowering my clients to realise their fullest potential.
I have postgraduate qualifications in psychology and integrative counselling. Most recently I have been working in clinical research looking at novel ways to treat depression.
Integrative humanistic psychotherapy combines various therapeutic approaches, tailoring them to the individual needs and experiences, with a central focus on promoting self-awareness and personal growth. This form of therapy emphasises the client's inherent capacity for self-healing and personal development, encouraging them to explore and understand their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.
The therapist and client work collaboratively, creating a supportive environment where the client feels safe to express themselves authentically. By integrating techniques from different therapeutic schools, I offer a flexible and holistic approach, aiming to understand your challenges and support your journey towards good mental health.
